There will be a free will offering for the rehabilitation of the Historic Litchfield Opera House

Litchfield Opera House: Litchfield, Meeker County.

Designed by St. Paul architect William T. Towner in 1900, the Litchfield Opera House is under RENOVATION at 126 N. Marshall Ave. Sporting a unique Renaissance Revival façade, the building is on the National Historic Register and is composed of yellow brick with designs in red brick and terra cotta. Until 1935, the Opera House served traveling theater troupes, stage plays, musicals, graduations, lectures, revivals, gatherings of all kinds, and local musical performances. It is believed that Sarah Bernhardt once performed here.

The building was purchased by the Greater Litchfield Opera House Association (GLOHA) on January 1, 2008 and will once again serve the community.  If you would like to volunteer your time, money, or knowledge, please contact DARLENE KOTELNICKI, MICKY SCULLARD, DAVID LINDBERG, or BUTCH SCHULTE.

Click on PHOTOS and view the monthly progess of the Opera House.  You will not believe the amount of work that has occured in this fabulous building.
